Irish Hills Golf & Country Club occupies a stretch of the Ottawa Valley's rolling countryside west of the city, in the village of Carp — a community that punches well above its size in local character, home to the famous Carp Fair and a tight-knit agricultural identity that gives this corner of Lanark County its distinct rural personality. The course sits within that landscape of gentle ridges, open farmland, and mixed Ontario hardwood forest, the kind of terrain that rewards a design built around natural contours rather than manufactured drama.
As a private members' club, Irish Hills offers something increasingly rare in the Ottawa golf scene: a place where the social fabric is as much a part of the experience as the round itself. Members return season after season for the familiarity of a course that rewards local knowledge — reading its subtle breaks, managing its prevailing winds, and knowing which holes demand patience over aggression.
Ottawa's golf season runs from roughly May through October, and the Valley's autumn colour transforms the property into one of the more scenic places to play a late-season round in eastern Ontario.
