Tutzing sits on the western shore of the Starnberger See, one of Bavaria's most beautiful Alpine lakes, with the Bavarian Alps rising dramatically to the south. The Golfplatz Tutzing occupies this privileged setting, and playing here means doing so against a backdrop that would distract even the most focused golfer. The club has been part of the Munich golf scene for decades, drawing members from the city — roughly 35 kilometers to the north — who make the journey down into the Fünfseenland for weekends on the course.
The layout works with the gently rolling Bavarian foothills terrain, where mature trees frame most holes and the turf reflects the cooler, wetter climate that the lake and surrounding mountains produce. This is parkland golf in a distinctly Central European tradition: methodical, well-maintained, and rewarding of patience and course management over raw power.
The town of Tutzing itself is a quietly prosperous lake community, home to the Evangelische Akademie and a long tradition of Bavarian intellectual and cultural life. The overall experience leans decidedly private and understated — the kind of club where the setting does the talking.
