Ystads golfklubb

Ystad Golf Club has been a fixture of southern Swedish golf since the 1940s, playing across a stretch of Skåne's coastal agricultural plain where the land opens flat and wide toward the Baltic. The course sits near the small village of Köpingebro, just inland from the sea, and the landscape here is quintessentially Scanian — broad skies, occasional windbreaks of beech and oak, and the kind of persistent Baltic wind that turns a straightforward card into something considerably more demanding.

Skåne is Sweden's southernmost province and arguably its richest golfing region, with a concentration of quality clubs that benefits from a milder climate than most of the country. Ystad itself is one of the coast's more characterful towns, known for its half-timbered medieval center and as the fictional home of Kurt Wallander — and the club draws a loyal membership from that community.

The layout rewards course management over raw power. With the wind a near-constant factor, club selection and ball flight matter more than most Swedish parkland settings demand, giving the course a links-adjacent personality without technically being one.
