The Moshi Club

Few golf settings anywhere on Earth match what greets you at The Moshi Club. The course sits in the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro in northern Tanzania, and on a clear morning the snow-capped summit of Africa's highest peak dominates the skyline above the fairways in a way that makes concentration on your swing genuinely difficult. The surrounding landscape is lush and equatorial — coffee and banana plantations fringe the area, fed by the mountain's glacial runoff, giving Moshi a surprising greenness for a region most visitors associate with savanna.

The club itself is one of Tanzania's older colonial-era establishments, with roots typical of the highland golf societies the British founded across East Africa in the early 20th century.
