Fort Bragg — now officially redesignated as Fort Liberty — is one of the largest military installations in the world, home to the 82nd Airborne Division and tens of thousands of active-duty soldiers and their families. Golf on post has long served as both recreation and community, offering a rare patch of quiet amid one of the Army's most demanding duty stations. The Stryker Course is part of that tradition, providing on-base access to the game for service members, retirees, and their guests.
The surrounding Sandhills region of North Carolina is genuine golf country. The same sandy soil and longleaf pine landscape that made Pinehurst famous — just a short drive to the south — runs through this part of the state, giving courses here a natural kinship with classic American parkland and heathland designs.
