Langeskov sits in the heart of Funen — the island Danes call the "Garden of Denmark" — and that agricultural softness shapes everything about golf here. The landscape is gentle and green, threaded with small waterways and hedgerows, and Sølykke Golf fits naturally into that pastoral character. Funen occupies a middle ground between the windswept Jutland links to the west and the more wooded courses of Zealand to the east, producing a style of golf that is quiet and unpretentious, reliant on the land's natural contours rather than dramatic engineering.
Sølykke itself is a member-owned club in the tradition of Danish regional golf — the kind of place where the game is taken seriously without being made precious. The name references the small lake features that define several of the holes, and water comes into play enough to reward straight striking over raw power.
Southern Denmark's golf season runs spring through autumn, with long midsummer evenings that stretch a round well past 9 p.m. — one of the genuine pleasures of playing this latitude.
