St. Marys sits at Georgia's southernmost tip, where the coastal plain dissolves into tidal marshes, ancient live oaks, and the kind of subtropical landscape that feels genuinely untamed. The town is the gateway to Cumberland Island — one of America's last wild barrier islands — and that sense of preserved, unhurried coastal nature tends to seep into everything around it, golf included.
Osprey Cove takes its name seriously. The course moves through the lowcountry wetlands and salt marsh corridors that define this corner of the Georgia coast, and the wildlife presence — ospreys, herons, alligators — is not incidental scenery but a constant companion. This is marsh-edge golf, where the natural hazards are genuinely natural, and the landscape does most of the heavy lifting a designer might otherwise attempt with earthworks.
As a daily-fee or semi-private club in a relatively small coastal community, Osprey Cove serves both local regulars and travelers crossing into Florida or stepping off the Cumberland Island ferry. It offers a style of golf that coastal Georgia does well — relaxed in pace, serious in setting.
