Weeks Park has been a cornerstone of public golf in Wichita Falls for decades, and the Champions Course is the more demanding of the 2 layouts the facility offers. Sitting within the broader Weeks Park recreational complex, the course plays through mature tree corridors and open stretches typical of north Texas municipal design — where the wind off the rolling plains can quietly turn a manageable round into something far more humbling than the card suggests.
Wichita Falls sits near the Red River, close to the Oklahoma border, in a part of Texas where summers run brutally hot and the landscape tends toward wide skies and mesquite-dotted terrain. Golf here is practical and unpretentious — a working-class game played by people who know their way around a links-style breeze and aren't intimidated by firm, fast conditions.
For visitors, the Champions Course offers an honest test of municipal golf at its most straightforward: no gimmicks, no forced drama, just 18 holes where ball-striking and course management tend to matter more than any single spectacular view.
