Lakeview Hills Golf Resort sits in the Thumb region of Michigan's Lower Peninsula, a stretch of lakeshore country defined by the proximity of Lake Huron and the flat-to-gently-rolling farmland that gives way to woodlands as you move inland. The South Course is 1 of 2 18-hole layouts on the property, making Lakeview Hills one of the more substantial resort destinations in this part of the state — a region that draws summer visitors from Detroit and the Midwest looking to escape to the Blue Water Coast.
Lexington itself is a small harbor town, the kind of place where the pace slows and the late-afternoon light off the lake tends to linger. Golf out here has always been tied to the tourism rhythm of the summer season, and resort courses in this corridor lean into that unhurried spirit.
The South Course plays as a par 72, offering the full, traditional round expected of a destination layout. Without the cramped feeling of a weekend muni, there's room to breathe — and given the setting, that's precisely the point.
