Golfclub Grevelingenhout takes its name from the Grevelingenmeer — the vast saltwater lake created when the Grevelingen estuary was closed off by the Grevelingendam as part of the Netherlands' monumental Delta Works flood-defence system. That engineering history is impossible to ignore here: the landscape this course occupies is reclaimed, reshaped, and defined by the water that surrounds it. Bruinisse sits on what was once a fishing island on the Zeeland delta, and the openness and light of that maritime setting carry directly onto the course.
