Chattanooga sits at the meeting point of Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama, where the Tennessee River cuts through the Cumberland Plateau and the ridgelines of the southern Appalachians rise sharply in every direction. Golf here means elevation change, wooded terrain, and views that reward a well-placed tee shot in ways a flat parkland course simply can't match. The name Eagle Bluff suggests the course makes use of that landscape rather than working against it.
A par 72 layout in this corner of Tennessee almost certainly deals in dogleg fairways shaped by hillside contours, approach shots that demand a honest read of uphill and downhill lies, and greens that can be deceptively tricky when slopes feed away from the flag. Whether the course plays firm and fast in the summer heat or soft after an autumn rain, Chattanooga's season is long enough that golfers get to know a home course across its full range of moods.
For visitors, the city itself adds plenty to the trip — the Tennessee Aquarium, the revitalized North Shore, and proximity to Lookout Mountain make Chattanooga an easy sell as a destination before or after the round.
