Golf Disneyland sits within the broader Val d'Europe development east of Paris, part of the same grand masterplan that brought Disneyland Paris to the Marne-la-Vallée corridor in the early 1990s. The course was designed by Ronald Fream, the American architect known for blending strategic variety with accessible playability, and opened alongside the resort's expansion as the area transformed from flat Brie farmland into one of Europe's most ambitious leisure destinations.

Despite its famous neighbor, the course itself is a serious members' club rather than a resort amenity — private, with a genuine local membership drawn from the surrounding Seine-et-Marne commuter towns and the growing Val d'Europe community. The landscape here is essentially the Île-de-France plain: open, gently rolling, with tree lines that Fream used to define corridors and add strategic interest to what is otherwise fairly open terrain.
