Few courses in Europe ask you to play through a landscape quite like this one. The Terme di Saturnia Golf Club sits on the Maremma plateau in southern Tuscany, an ancient volcanic region where thermal springs have bubbled at a constant 37.5 degrees Celsius for millennia. The course was designed by Piero Mancinelli and opened in the late 1980s as part of the broader spa resort, and it occupies open, rolling farmland dotted with cork oaks and maritime pines — terrain that feels genuinely remote despite being only a short drive from the Etruscan ruins of Saturnia town.

The layout favors strategic play over raw power, moving through the undulating Maremma countryside with wide fairways that reward placement rather than brute force. The volcanic soil drains exceptionally well, meaning the course stays playable through Tuscany's wet winters more reliably than many Italian parkland tracks.

The real draw, of course, is what comes after the round. The resort's thermal baths are among the most famous in Italy, and the combination of a full day of golf followed by a long soak in those sulfurous, mineral-rich pools is a pretty compelling argument for staying more than one night.
