Stouffville sits at the northeastern edge of the Greater Toronto Area, where the Oak Ridges Moraine begins to assert itself — a landscape of rolling glacial terrain, woodlands, and the kind of natural contour that gives golf architects something to work with. The North Course operates in this environment, and the moraine's topography tends to reward courses built here with genuine elevation change and visual variety that flatter stretches of flat Ontario farmland simply cannot offer.
A par 71 layout signals a design choice worth noting: expect at least a couple of par-4s playing as the course's most demanding tests, or a routing that trades one of the conventional par 5s for strategic shorter holes. That single stroke off a standard par can quietly reshape how you manage your card across 18 holes.
Stouffville itself has grown considerably as Toronto's suburban reach has expanded northward, but the area retains a small-town character and a recreational golf culture to match — unpretentious, accessible, and genuinely local in feel.
