Lomas Country Club sits in Huixquilucan, one of the affluent municipalities that fan out from Mexico City into the Estado de México highlands, where the altitude hovers around 2,400 meters and the thinner air gives every iron shot a few extra meters of carry. The club has long been one of the capital's most prestigious private addresses, drawing its membership from the Lomas de Chapultepec and Interlomas corridors — some of the most prosperous neighborhoods in Latin America.
The course occupies terrain shaped by the volcanic geology common to the Mexican plateau, with elevation changes, mature trees, and the kind of tight, considered layout that demands course management over raw power. Playing in the rarefied air rewards ball-strikers who can control trajectory rather than simply lean on distance.
As a members-only institution, Lomas functions as much as a social anchor for its community as a golf club, with a culture of serious play among a membership that takes the game genuinely to heart. Visitors rarely see it, which makes it all the more coveted among Mexico City's golfing circles.
