Shaw Hill has been a fixture of the Lancashire golfing scene for decades, occupying a handsome parkland estate on the outskirts of Chorley. It's a region with genuine golfing density — Royal Lytham and Haydock-area courses are within reasonable reach — and Shaw Hill occupies a respectable middle ground: more refined than a typical pay-and-play, but without the exclusivity that keeps visitors at arm's length.
