Golfclub Bad Tölz e.V.

Bad Tölz has one of the most dramatically situated golf courses in Bavaria. The layout occupies a hillside above the spa town, with the Bavarian Alps rising to the south as a near-constant backdrop — on a clear day, the panorama from several of the elevated tees is genuinely breathtaking. The course opened in the 1970s and plays through a landscape shaped by glacial moraine, meaning the terrain is naturally rolling and varied rather than anything a designer had to manufacture. That undulation gives the course its personality: uphill approaches, sidehill lies, and changes in elevation throughout the round.

Bad Tölz itself sits on the Isar River about 50 kilometers south of Munich, and it has been a destination since the 19th century for visitors drawn to its iodine springs and Alpine air. The golf club fits naturally into that tradition of outdoor recreation.

The club functions as a private members' organization, though visitor play is typically welcomed. The course rewards accurate ball-striking and local knowledge — those slopes that deliver the views also punish misreads of the terrain.
