The Pacific coast of Colima state has long been one of Mexico's quieter resort discoveries, and El Corazón sits within that world — a course carved through the tropical landscape just outside Manzanillo, the port city that defines this stretch of coastline. Manzanillo earned its golf reputation largely through Las Hadas and the iconic Palma Real and La Mantarraya courses that gained international attention after the 1979 film "10" was shot there, establishing the area as a legitimate golf destination rather than merely a beach escape.
El Corazón occupies the kind of terrain this region does well: lush, humid, and dramatically contoured, with the Sierra Madre foothills pressing in from inland and Pacific air keeping conditions warm year-round. That combination of elevation change and tropical vegetation gives layouts here a density and visual drama that flat resort courses simply cannot replicate.
As a private club serving both residents and resort visitors, El Corazón caters to an international clientele drawn by Manzanillo's mix of deep-water sailing, sportfishing culture, and unhurried coastal lifestyle — golf that rewards the traveler willing to look beyond the more marketed corridors of Los Cabos or Puerto Vallarta.
