Few mountain resort courses in eastern Canada carry the reputation of Le Géant. Designed by Graham Cooke and opened in 1995 as the centerpiece of the Mont-Tremblant resort, the course earns its name — "The Giant" — through dramatic elevation changes and sweeping views across the Laurentian Mountains that stop players mid-round. Cooke routed the layout through mature forest, letting the natural terrain dictate the architecture rather than forcing order onto the land.
Mont-Tremblant itself is one of Quebec's premier four-season destinations, and Le Géant reflects that ambition. The course plays firm and fast in peak season, rewarding precision over power, and the fall window — when the Laurentian hardwoods ignite in colour — draws visitors from across the continent. It has hosted significant provincial and national amateur events, cementing its place as one of the region's most serious tests.
This is resort golf with genuine teeth. Straight hitters who miss the correct sections of fairway find the forest unforgiving, and the back nine in particular demands full commitment on approach shots where the mountain drops away beneath the green.
