Helsingborgs Golfklubb sits on the northwestern tip of Skåne, Sweden's southernmost province, in the small coastal town of Viken — just a short drive north of Helsingborg along the Öresund strait. The club has been part of the regional golf fabric for decades, and its seaside setting gives it a character distinct from the inland heathland and parkland courses that dominate much of Swedish golf. Playing here, you are never far from the water, and when the wind picks up off the strait — which it frequently does — the course demands a different kind of thinking than a calm scorecard might suggest.
Across the Öresund you can see Denmark on clear days, a reminder of just how narrow this stretch of sea is and how deeply connected these two countries are, historically and geographically. Viken itself is a quiet fishing village with a genuine charm, and the course reflects something of that unhurried, community-rooted atmosphere typical of Scandinavian golf clubs.
For visiting golfers, this is a chance to experience Swedish golf culture at its most relaxed and authentic — member-oriented and unpretentious, with a coastal setting that elevates even an ordinary round into something genuinely memorable.
