DeGray Lake Resort State Park sits on one of Arkansas's most scenic bodies of water — a 13,400-acre reservoir in the Ouachita Mountains that draws visitors year-round for fishing, boating, and now golf. The course occupies that same wooded hillside terrain, meaning players can expect elevation changes, hardwood-lined fairways, and the kind of quiet that only comes from a state park setting far removed from suburban sprawl. Bismarck sits in Clark County, roughly midway between Hot Springs and Texarkana, in a part of the state where the Ouachitas begin to give way to the Gulf Coastal Plain.
As a state park facility, the course serves a broad mix of golfers — resort guests staying in the park's lodge, campers, and locals from the surrounding communities who treat it as their home track. That democratic spirit shapes the atmosphere: unhurried, unpretentious, and genuinely welcoming to players of all skill levels.
Hot Springs, about 30 miles northeast, anchors the regional golf scene with its own well-established courses. DeGray offers something those busier destinations don't — a round where the lake views and forest surroundings are as much the draw as the golf itself.
