Pete Dye designed TPC Louisiana as a tour-quality venue built specifically to host PGA Tour events, and it has delivered on that promise — the course served as home to the Zurich Classic of New Orleans for years, bringing the professional game to the heart of Louisiana's golf scene. Opened in 2004, the layout sits on low, flat marshland just west of New Orleans, and Dye used that terrain to his advantage: water comes into play on virtually every hole, fairways are framed by waste areas and native grasses, and the wind off the bayou can quietly dismantle a score before a player realizes what's happened.
The Zurich Classic eventually evolved into a unique team format, making it one of the more distinctive events on Tour — and the course's wide, strategic corridors suit that style of play, rewarding bold lines while punishing overconfidence.
