Miraflores golf

Few stretches of the Costa del Sol pack in as much golf as the corridor between Fuengirola and Marbella, and Miraflores sits comfortably within that orbit — a mature parkland layout that has served the area's mix of expat residents and visiting tourists since the early 1990s. The course was designed by Folco Nardi, and its tree-lined fairways and generous greens give it a more enclosed, almost Continental feel compared to the breezy exposed linksland imitations that proliferate along the coast. It plays through undulating terrain typical of the lower foothills of the Sierra de Mijas, where elevation changes keep the routing interesting without ever turning punishing.

Mijas Costa itself is less a single town than a broad municipal zone straddling the N-340, home to a dense concentration of residential developments and a golf infrastructure to match — Miraflores is one of several courses within a short drive, giving the area genuine appeal as a golfing base.

The course reads as a solid, enjoyable resort-adjacent track: well-maintained enough to reward a return visit, accessible enough that mid-handicappers can move around it freely, and atmospheric enough — particularly on the back nine where the tree cover thickens — to feel like more than a holiday round.
