グランドゴルフ場

The name グランドゴルフ場 — literally "Ground Golf Course" — points to a facility built around ground golf (グラウンドゴルフ), a sport invented in Japan in 1982 in nearby Tottori Prefecture and now enormously popular among older adults across the country. Unlike conventional golf, the game is played with a single mallet-style club and a small ball, on compact courses of 8 holes that can be laid out on any flat open ground. Facilities like this one are common fixtures in Japanese municipal parks and community centers, offering low-cost, low-barrier recreation for locals.
