Patreksfjörður sits at the end of one of the Westfjords' deepest inlets, a remote fishing community of roughly 700 people on Iceland's northwestern peninsula — one of the least-visited corners of Europe, let alone the golfing world. The drive in from Reykjavík takes the better part of a day, winding over mountain passes that close entirely in winter, which puts the local golf course in a category of its own for sheer geographical commitment.
