Anthem Golf & Country Club anchors the master-planned community of Anthem, one of the largest planned developments in Arizona history, situated about 35 miles north of Phoenix in the high Sonoran Desert at the base of the Daisy Mountain range. The course was designed by Greg Nash and opened in 1999 alongside the community itself, built into the rugged desert terrain where elevation changes and rocky outcroppings define both the landscape and the playing experience.
Desert golf at this latitude means contending with arroyos, native vegetation, and wide-open skies — but also with genuine topography that gives the layout more visual drama than the flatter valley courses to the south. The Sonoran setting demands accuracy off the tee, where desert scrub and rocky waste areas frame most holes and lateral hazards come with real consequences.
