Few golf experiences on the Oregon Coast carry the reputation of Salishan Golf Links. The course is the centerpiece of the Salishan Spa & Golf Resort, a property that has anchored the Lincoln City coastline since the 1960s and remains one of the Pacific Northwest's most recognized golf destinations. Designed by Fred Federspiel, the layout winds through a coastal forest of Sitka spruce and shore pine, and that woodland character — more than any single hole — defines what makes Salishan feel different from the cliff-top or links-style courses people often associate with Oregon's ocean-facing terrain.
Gleneden Beach sits on the central Oregon Coast, roughly midway between Lincoln City and Depoe Bay, where the marine climate keeps things green year-round and where fog, wind off the Pacific, and soft fairways are all part of the bargain. Players who expect a manicured resort track often find something more rugged and atmospheric than anticipated.
The layout's par of 71 hints at a routing that mixes short and long challenges without a conventional structure, rewarding course management and straight ball-striking through corridors that leave little margin for lateral misses.
