Rosh Pinah

Rosh Pinah sits in one of southern Africa's most extreme industrial landscapes — a zinc and lead mining town carved into the stark, rocky desert of southern Namibia's Sperrgebiet borderlands, where the Orange River valley meets the edge of the Namib. Temperatures regularly push past 40°C in summer, and the surrounding terrain is all exposed granite, dry riverbeds, and scrub.
