伊豆スカイラインカントリー倶楽部 sits high in the Amagi highlands of Izu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, where the peninsula's mountainous spine rises sharply from the surrounding coastline. The course shares its dramatic elevation with the Izu Skyline toll road — the scenic ridge-top highway that threads through this part of the peninsula — giving the club both its name and a setting that feels genuinely removed from lowland Japan. At altitude, the air carries a coolness even in summer, and views across the Izu ranges toward Suruga Bay appear between tree lines on clear days.
Izu Peninsula golf tends to reward courses built into its volcanic terrain with natural drama, and this one leans into that geography. The undulating mountain land means uneven lies are part of the rhythm, and the forested surrounds keep holes distinct and sequenced. Wind behavior shifts unpredictably with ridge topography, adding a variable the scorecard can't capture.
For visitors to Shizuoka, Izu's golf corridor is well-established alongside its famous hot-spring resorts. Courses here draw a mix of Tokyo-area golfers making the two-hour drive and ryokan guests extending a weekend stay into a round or two.
