Few private clubs in the Pacific Northwest carry the history and standing of Manito Golf & Country Club. Founded in the early 20th century in Spokane's storied South Hill neighborhood, Manito has long been considered one of Washington State's premier private clubs, its grounds sharing a legacy with the surrounding Manito Park district — one of Spokane's most treasured civic spaces. The club has served as a gathering point for the city's golf community for well over a century.
The course itself sits in terrain shaped by the ancient channeled scablands geology that defines the Inland Northwest, offering a playing experience distinct from the lush coastal layouts of western Washington. Spokane's drier, continental climate means firm and fast conditions for much of the season, rewarding ground-game thinking alongside aerial approaches.
As a true members' club, Manito operates with the kind of unhurried, community-centered atmosphere that private golf does best — a place where regulars know every nuance of a par-71 layout that has rewarded study and penalized carelessness across generations of members.
