Ranelagh Golf Club

Few golf clubs in Argentina carry the historical weight of Ranelagh Golf Club, one of the oldest in the country and a testament to the British immigrant communities that shaped Argentine golf culture in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The club takes its name from the suburban town of Ranelagh, itself named by British railway workers and settlers after the London district — a piece of living history in the greater Buenos Aires metropolitan sprawl. That Anglo-Argentine heritage runs deep here, from the club's founding traditions to its enduring character as a genuine members' institution.

The course sits within the Río de la Plata lowlands southeast of the capital, in Buenos Aires Province's partido of Berazategui. The terrain is characteristically flat, as is typical of the pampa, with mature tree plantings doing much of the work of shaping holes and framing shots over decades of growth.
