진천군 is a quiet inland county in North Chungcheong Province, sitting roughly at the geographic heart of South Korea. The area is known more for agriculture and the birthplace of General Kim Yusin than for resort development, which gives any golf course here a decidedly local, workaday character — this is where residents of Chungbuk and commuters from the greater Cheongju and Daejeon corridors come to play, not an international destination layout.
골프존카운티 화랑 is part of the 골프존카운티 management group, one of South Korea's most active golf course operators, which has built a portfolio of accessible, well-maintained member and public-access venues across the country. The 화랑 (Hwarang) name echoes the elite warrior youth corps of the Silla Kingdom — an evocative regional touch given that General Kim Yusin himself was among the most celebrated Hwarang. That cultural thread connects the course to the county's identity in a way that goes beyond branding.
North Chungcheong's interior terrain tends toward rolling hills and forested ridgelines, and courses in this corridor typically reward straight driving more than power, with tree-lined corridors and elevation changes that make course management the real test.
