The Golfclub Küssnacht sits at the foot of the Rigi — the famous "Queen of the Mountains" rising above Lake Lucerne — in one of the most dramatically scenic stretches of central Switzerland. The location alone sets it apart: the course plays against a backdrop of alpine panoramas, with the Rigi massif dominating the skyline and the waters of the Küssnachter Arm of Lake Lucerne nearby. This is William Tell country, the very landscape that shaped Swiss national mythology, and the sense of place is palpable from the first tee.
The course itself is a parkland layout typical of Swiss mountain-edge golf — rolling terrain, mature trees, and a character shaped as much by the surrounding landscape as by design. Swiss golf clubs in this region tend to be well-maintained, member-focused communities where the game is taken seriously without losing its enjoyment.
Küssnacht am Rigi sits roughly equidistant between Lucerne and Zug, making it accessible to golfers from both cities. The alpine climate means a compressed season, but when the weather holds, few settings in central Europe offer a more rewarding combination of golf and mountain scenery.
