Grenelefe Golf & Tennis Resort occupies a stretch of central Florida's lake-dotted interior, far enough from the coasts to feel genuinely removed from the tourist corridor. Haines City sits in Polk County, the heart of Florida's Ridge country, where the terrain rolls more than most visitors expect — elevation changes, pine stands, and scattered wetlands give the land a character that distinguishes it from the flat, manicured sameness of many Sunshine State layouts. The resort itself was a significant destination property through the 1970s and '80s, operating 3 courses at its peak and drawing serious golfers who wanted a full-week retreat in a quieter corner of the state.
