Ozo Golf Club sits on the northeastern edge of Riga, Latvia's capital and the largest city in the Baltic states — a place where medieval old town spires give way to art nouveau boulevards and eventually to the pine forests and river valleys that define the Latvian countryside. The club occupies a site within or near Ozols Park, and it operates as one of the more serious golf facilities in a country where the game remains a relatively young pursuit. Latvia's short summers are offset by long evenings of Nordic light, and rounds here in June and July can stretch into conditions that feel almost surreal.
Golf in the Baltic region has grown steadily since the early 1990s, when independence opened the door to leisure developments that simply weren't possible under Soviet rule. Ozols is part of that wave — a facility aimed at the growing Riga business and professional community that has embraced the game.
As a layout, the course works through a mix of open parkland and tree-lined corridors typical of the regional style, rewarding straight, managed play over raw power.
