Sora chi Country Club occupies a stretch of Hokkaido's broad agricultural interior, in Sunagawa — a small city that sits roughly midway along the island's central corridor between Sapporo and Asahikawa. The Sorachi region takes its name from the river that drains these plains, and the landscape here is characteristically Hokkaido: wide open, with sugar beet and rice fields extending to the treeline, and a climate that delivers genuine winters and short but vivid summers. Golf in this part of Hokkaido operates on a compressed season, typically running from late spring through autumn before snowfall closes things down.

The course plays through the kind of terrain typical of Hokkaido's inland clubs — gently rolling farmland fringe transitioning into stands of birch and pine, giving holes a sense of natural separation without dramatic elevation change.
