Sun City West sits about 30 miles northwest of Phoenix in the Sonoran Desert, a planned retirement community built around an active lifestyle — and golf is central to that identity. The area's courses are designed to be walked or ridden daily, serving residents who play regularly rather than occasionally, and that shapes everything from conditioning priorities to pace of play culture.
Grandview is one of several courses serving the Sun City West community, built to give residents a home track they can return to again and again across seasons. That kind of repeated, familiar play tends to produce golfers who know every bounce, every prevailing wind off the desert floor, and exactly which pins are reachable and which are traps. The landscape is classic low Sonoran terrain — wide skies, mountain backdrops visible in most directions, and the ever-present desert framing that makes errant shots costly.
