Lausitzer Golfclub

Few parts of Germany carry as layered a history as Lower Lusatia, the flat, lake-dotted region straddling Brandenburg and Saxony where Neuhausen/Spree sits. This is the landscape of the Sorbian minority culture, of vast lignite mining operations that reshaped the earth for a century, and of the post-reunification transformation that followed. Golf arrived here as part of that broader reinvention, and the Lausitzer Golfclub reflects its setting — open skies, sandy soils, and a terrain shaped more by glacial drift and industrial reclamation than by any natural parkland tradition.

The course plays through a quietly distinctive environment typical of the Spree Forest's northern edge: sparse woodland, light rough, and the kind of breezy exposure that makes club selection trickier than it might first appear.
