Flamboyan

Humacao sits on Puerto Rico's eastern coast, where the land flattens toward the Caribbean and the Sierra de Cayey rises inland to the west. This corner of the island is far enough from the San Juan tourism corridor to feel genuinely local — sugarcane country turned coastal suburb, with the Reserva Natural de Humacao preserving a stretch of wetlands and lagoons just south of town. Golf in this part of Puerto Rico tends to draw a community crowd rather than resort travelers passing through.

Flamboyan takes its name from the flamboyán tree — the flame tree, Delonix regia — a Caribbean icon whose crimson canopy is practically synonymous with a Puerto Rican summer. Whether the course itself is lined with them or simply claims the spirit of the island's most dramatic flowering tree, the name sets an expectation of color and warmth.

As a par 72 layout in a coastal tropical setting, rounds here will be shaped by the trade winds that funnel across the eastern shore, making club selection and shot shape more consequential than the yardage alone suggests.
