Founded in 1966 and laid out across the foothills of the Sierra de Guadarrama, the course occupies a landscape of extraordinary historical resonance — it sits in the shadow of El Escorial, the vast 16th-century royal monastery-palace built by Philip II, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that looms over the valley with unmistakable authority.
