Few golf experiences in British Columbia place you quite so dramatically above a city as Tower Ranch does. Perched on the benchlands east of Kelowna, the course sits high above Okanagan Lake, with panoramic views across the water and the valley floor that stop first-timers mid-swing. The elevation and the wide-open terrain give it a character distinctly different from the tree-lined parkland courses common elsewhere in the province — this is exposed, windswept, ranch country golf, where the sky feels enormous and the landscape does much of the design work.
Kelowna sits at the heart of British Columbia's wine country, a region of hot summers, mild shoulder seasons, and a golf calendar that stretches well beyond what most of Canada can manage. The Okanagan has developed a serious reputation as a golf destination, and Tower Ranch is among the layouts that helped build it.
The course plays as a public facility, welcoming visitors who make the winding drive up from the valley floor. That climb is part of the experience — by the time you reach the first tee, you already know you're somewhere worth the trip.
