Georgian Bay's southern shoreline has made Collingwood one of Ontario's most compelling four-season destinations, and the golf here reflects that same dramatic geography. The Niagara Escarpment rises sharply to the south, the bay shimmers to the north, and the terrain in between offers the kind of natural contour that course designers spend careers searching for. Collingwood sits at the heart of a genuine golf cluster — Blue Mountain and its surrounding properties have drawn players to this corner of Simcoe County for decades.

The "Old" designation at Cranberry suggests a multi-course facility with at least one additional layout on the property, a common evolution for resort-anchored clubs in destination golf regions. These original courses tend to carry a certain lived-in character — the mature tree lines, settled fairways, and institutional memory that newer layouts simply haven't had time to earn.

The surrounding area trades on skiing in winter and hiking and cycling in warmer months, but golf remains the warm-weather anchor. Players here are typically chasing scenery as much as a scorecard.
