Legends of the Niagara

Few golf destinations in North America can claim a backdrop as dramatic as this one. Legends of the Niagara sits on the Canadian side of the border in Niagara Falls, Ontario, operated by the Niagara Parks Commission — the same body that has stewarded the gorge and its surrounding green corridor for over a century. The facility comprises 2 distinct 18-hole courses, the Battlefield and the Erin, spread across a sweeping stretch of parkland that traces the Niagara River downstream from the falls themselves.

Doug Carrick designed both layouts, opening in 2002, and his routing makes full use of the terrain's natural contours — glacially carved ridges, mature hardwoods, and wetland corridors that feel genuinely wild despite the proximity to one of the world's most visited tourist destinations. The Battlefield course, named for the War of 1812 history embedded in this land, tends to draw the most attention for its routing near the river escarpment.

Playing here means stepping into a parkland setting that most visitors to Niagara Falls never discover. It's a legitimate destination layout, not merely a tourist convenience.
