Cambrils sits on the Costa Daurada — the "Golden Coast" — south of Barcelona in Tarragona province, a stretch of Mediterranean shoreline better known for its beaches, seafood, and summer tourism than for serious golf. The town itself is regarded as one of the finest dining destinations on Spain's east coast, with a harbour full of restaurants turning out some of the best rice dishes and fresh fish in Catalonia. Mas Gallau fits that holiday spirit perfectly: a pitch & putt layout attached to a hotel and restaurant, designed for guests who want a few relaxed holes between a swim and a long lunch rather than a full competitive round.
Pitch & putt is genuinely popular in Catalonia, where the format has its own federation and culture, so this is not simply a novelty sideline. Expect short, par-3 holes playable with a wedge and a putter — accessible to beginners and families but still capable of humbling anyone who takes their short game for granted.
For visiting golfers, Mas Gallau makes most sense as a warm-up or a casual add-on. Full-length courses, including the well-regarded layouts around Salou and the wider Costa Daurada, are within easy reach for days when a proper 18 holes is the priority.
