Lake Havasu City sits in the Mohave Desert along the Colorado River, a place better known for spring breakers and the relocated London Bridge than for golf — yet the region's year-round sunshine and dramatic landscape of red rock and open water make it a surprisingly compelling place to play. Temperatures can be brutal in summer, but from fall through spring the conditions are as close to ideal as the desert Southwest produces.
The "Island" in the name is a real reference point: Lake Havasu City was built around a man-made island channel, and The Nautical is a long-established resort property on the lake's shoreline. A golf course carrying that island identity promises something beyond a standard desert layout — water comes into play in ways that feel genuinely earned by the setting rather than manufactured.
Without more specific records on hand, what's clear is that this is resort-style golf in a destination town where the vibe is relaxed and the scenery does real work. Guests staying at The Nautical have access to the lake, the water-sports culture, and a round that lets the Colorado River corridor do what a scorecard simply cannot describe.
