Golfclub Hohenstaufen

Few golf courses in southern Germany come with as dramatic a backdrop as Golfclub Hohenstaufen, which sits in the shadow of the Rechberg and Stuifen hills on the eastern fringe of the Swabian Alb. The club takes its name from the Hohenstaufen dynasty — the medieval imperial family whose ruined hilltop castle is visible from parts of the course — lending the whole experience an atmosphere that no architect can manufacture. This is the Stauferland, a stretch of Baden-Württemberg where volcanic hill formations rise abruptly from a gentle plateau, and that topography shapes every round.
