Few private clubs in Central Florida carry the institutional weight of The Country Club of Orlando. One of the oldest and most established clubs in the region, it has served as a cornerstone of Orlando's social and sporting fabric long before the city transformed into an international tourism destination — a reminder that serious golf culture here predates the theme parks and resort corridors by decades.
The course itself reflects the quieter, more intimate side of Orlando that visitors rarely encounter. Rather than the manicured spectacle of nearby resort layouts, this is members' golf — a track shaped by familiarity and repeat play, where regulars come to know every subtle break and prevailing afternoon wind. Central Florida's sandy soils and subtropical climate keep the turf firm and fast for much of the year, and the flat terrain typical of the region rewards course management over raw power.
Membership here means belonging to something with genuine roots. For Orlando residents who play, it represents a private retreat from a city that is, by nature, very public.
