Ilfracombe is a small outback Queensland town sitting deep in the Central West, roughly 1,200 kilometres inland from Brisbane on the Landsborough Highway. The surrounding landscape is classic Channel Country fringe — vast, flat Mitchell grass plains under enormous skies, with the kind of silence and space that feels genuinely remote. Golf out here is part of a proud tradition of bush clubs that have kept the game alive across rural Australia for generations, and this course is very much part of that world.
