Few golf experiences in Sicily place you this far into the island's rugged interior. Collesano sits in the Madonie mountains, a protected natural park southeast of Cefalù, where the terrain is dramatic and decidedly un-resort — stone villages, ancient beech forests, and ridgelines that drop sharply toward the Tyrrhenian coast. Le Madonie Golf occupies this elevated, wild landscape, and the course reads like the land it was carved from: uneven lies, panoramic views, and a setting that demands your attention even when the golf itself doesn't.
The course is a modest, low-key operation by Italian standards — not a prestige destination or a tournament venue, but something rarer in golf terms: a local track with genuine character of place. It draws a mix of Sicilian members and travelers making their way along the northern coast between Palermo and Messina, many using Cefalù as a base.
This is golf without pretension. The Madonie park is one of Sicily's most beautiful corners, and simply being out on that terrain, at elevation, with the mountains opening around you, is the main event.
