Golf de la Caquerelle

Perched in the rolling Jura hills of northwestern Switzerland, Golf de la Caquerelle occupies one of the more scenic pockets of Swiss golf country. The course sits near Asuel, a quiet commune in the Canton of Jura — Switzerland's youngest canton, carved out of Bern only in 1979 — where the landscape opens into wide pastoral valleys framed by limestone ridges and dense fir forest. This corner of Switzerland feels unhurried and genuinely rural, a world away from the manicured lakeside resorts that define Swiss golf's more famous addresses.

The terrain here does much of the design work. Fairways move across gently undulating farmland with the Jura escarpment providing a constant backdrop, and the natural contours mean few holes play the same way twice. Wind funnels through the valley with more influence than visitors typically expect from an inland Swiss layout.

The club draws a loyal regional membership from both the Swiss Jura and the neighboring French borderlands — Alsace and Franche-Comté are within easy reach — giving it a pleasantly cross-border, community character that's as much a part of the experience as the golf itself.
